According to the Q&A with Introversion about Darwinia, over at Darwinia Warfront, a guy called Alistair Lindsay is working on the sounds for Darwinia.
A little research showed the only match to be this. There's some pretty high profile games on that list, Perfect Dark being the most notable, and working for Rare is always a good thing in my books. So if this is the guy making the sound for Darwinia, you can be sure it's gonna sounds great, if nothing else.
